Jaime I, was king of Aragon during the XI century. After submiting the rebelling nobility, expanded his Kingdom over the Mediterranean sea, from 1228 till 1273, with the conquest of Balear Islands, Valencia, Murcia ( which he gave to Castilla) and Ceuta. He also led one Crusade, but his fleet was almost destroyed by a storm, and he did not reach Palestine. Nevertheless 11 of his ships took part in the defence of Sant John of Acre.
He was an expertise diplomatic and warrior, a great king and a better man. The prototype of Christian Knight, he only fought against the moors, never against christians.
